  • Beginner Obedience class:
    • The Puppy/Beginner Obedience class builds the foundation for commands and name recognition. This class covers the basic commands of “sit”, “stay”, “come”, and loose leash walking. This class is essential to early socialization and learning to “make a friend” with both humans and other dogs. It teaches owner responsibility, canine psychology, and voice tones. This four week class meets once per week for 60 minutes.
      • Schedule: New sessions begin the first Monday (6:00pm - Mauldin), Tuesday (6:00pm and 7:30pm - Five Forks), Friday (2:00pm - Five Forks), and Saturday (8:30am and 10:00am - Five Forks).  
      • Pricing: $100 per dog, pre-registration is required prior to first class.

  • Intermediate Obedience (Canine Good Citizen) class:
    • The Intermediate Obedience class will teach the 10 items that are included on the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. These are accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, inspection, out for a walk heeling, walking through a crowd, sit and down on command, recall, reaction to another dog, reaction to distractions, and supervised separation. At the end of your class, you will have the option to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test to receive a certificate or title for your dog. This four week class meets once per week for 60 minutes.
      • Schedule: New sessions begin the first Wednesday (6:00pm - Mauldin & Five Forks), Thursday (6:00pm - Five Forks), and Saturday (12:00pm - Five Forks). 
      • Pricing: $100 per dog, pre-registration is required prior to first class.

  • Advanced Obedience class:
    • Go beyond training with our Advanced Obedience class! This class is a continuation of the skills that students learned in our Intermediate Obedience class. The Advanced Obedience class covers skills like recall reinforcement, introduction to off-leash heeling, distance control, "back up", "place", and "stand" commands, auto-sit during heeling, sit-in-flight, training with distractions, and extended down and sit holds. This four week class meets once per week for 60 minutes.
      • Schedule: New sessions begin the first Thursday (7:30pm - Five Forks) of every month. Please note, this class will occasionally be offered at our Mauldin location. Please call 864-520-8730 for more information. 
      • Pricing: $125 per dog, pre-registration is required prior to first class.

  • Advanced Off-Leash Obedience class:
    • Are you ready to take your dog’s training to the off-leash level? Astro’s Advanced Off-Leash Obedience class is designed to increase reliability, introduce new advanced skills, and strengthen the bond between dog and handler. Skills covered in the Advanced Off-Leash Obedience class include recall with distance and distractions, focused loose leash heeling, heel position, turns, sit and down commands with distance/distractions, and sit and down in-flight. Required supplies: Crate, 4’ or 6’ leash (no retractables), training or flat collar (no harnesses), 25’ long line/tether line. (Please note, just because you have a dog who you believe to be reliable off-leash does not mean that you do not have to follow the applicable leash laws for your location. You can view Greenville County’s leash laws here: http://www.greenvillesc.gov/541/Animal-Control.) This four week class meets once per week for 60 minutes.
      • Schedule: New session begins October 7th, 2018 at 5:00pm. 
      • Pricing: $125 per dog, pre-registration is required prior to first class.
      • Prerequisite: Intermediate Obedience class

  • Youth Obedience class:
    • Our Youth Obedience class is designed for children ages 10-16. This class will focus on responsible dog ownership, walking through crowds and past other dogs, basic obedience, reinforcing dog manners at home, and canine first aid (nose to tail). Please note, this class is priced at $100 per child. If you have two children and one dog we encourage them to take the class separately over two different months. This is a four week class that meets once per week for 60 minutes. Parents will drop off their children in the lobby and pick them up after class.  
      • Schedule: New session begins on October 1st, 2018 at 6:00pm. 
      • Pricing: $100 per child, pre-registration is required prior to first class. 
      • Location: Five Forks

  • Trick Training class:
    • The Trick Training class will teach eleven tricks that build on skill levels from novice to advanced. This class is designed to help teams achieve their AKC Trick Dog Titles and testing for this will be offered on a monthly basis. We do recommend that your dog has an understanding of basic obedience commands prior to taking this class.  Each week, teams will learn new tricks demonstrating multiple skill levels to accommodate all dogs and handlers.  Through positive reinforcement, handlers will learn how to encourages their dog to problem solve. Teaching tricks is a fun and rewarding activity, it provides exceptional mental stimulation for dogs and also creates a deeper bond between dogs and their handlers. This is a four week class that meets once per week for 60 minutes.  
      • Schedule: New session begins the first Monday of every month at 7:30pm. 
      • Pricing: $100 per dog, pre-registration is required prior to first class.
